Bheki Khoza Trio featuring sensational Fancy Galada LIVE! @ café Roux

South African guitar maestro, composer and bandleader Bheki Khoza returns to café Roux, leaving his indelible footprints on the country’s cultural landscape through a remarkable musical journey that bridges African tradition and contemporary jazz. This time, he takes to the stage with his Trio, featuring the extraordinary songbird Fancy Galada.A self-taught, left-handed guitarist, Khoza is a marvel on stage and an inspiration in the classroom. His distinctive musical language draws deeply from the spiritual richness of maskanda and the improvisational freedom of jazz. Inspired by traditional Zulu music, pioneering maskanda guitarists and South African jazz legends, he has developed a sound that is authentically African and universally resonant. His artistry has influenced generations of musicians whom he has mentored and inspired.Born in Langa in 1970, Fancy Galada began singing African choral music at eleven with the Thembani Lower Primary School choir. Her career blossomed when she joined the celebrated Heshoo Beshoo marimba, song and dance group in 1987, becoming its lead vocalist. Following successful Canadian tours, she collaborated with various groups, including Chisa and Amampondo. In 1996, she released Jazino as one half of the township-pop duo La Fancy.Together, Khoza and Galada promise an unforgettable celebration of South African musical heritage, virtuosity and soul.DOORS OPEN AT 6PM, SHOW STARTS AT 7:30PMNB!
