SUMMARY:Ink Basics Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Artist Becca Grey at Chat Noir for a beginner-friendly introduction and exploration to ink. In this 2-hour workshop\, we invite you to express\, observe\, and draw with intention. We’ll explore the expressive and unpredictable nature of ink—learning to embrace marks\, mistakes\, and the beauty of imperfection.Through a series of guided exercises\, you’ll experiment with mark-making\, tonal washes\, layering\, and texture\, while developing a more intuitive way of drawing. Rather than striving for perfect outcomes\, this workshop focuses on capturing moments\, ideas\, and impressions as they unfold.Becca is an NMU Honours graduate in painting and a Chat Noir employee whose practice extends across multiple mediums\, driven by a curiosity for experimentation. What's Included (for use during the workshop)Black ink\, palettes\, paper and workshop materialsRefreshments: water and hot beverages of your choiceWhat You'll Take HomeRound size 8 Brush0.3 Micron ink penA5 watercolour hot press padBlack Drawing inkYour own completed ink experiments and artworks What to BringA willingness to experiment and expressClothes or an apron you don't mind getting ink onAge: 13+Experience level: No previous experience needed.Ticket option: Workshop Ticket — includes the full 2-hour workshop\, all materials\, coffee and water\, one brush and one micron pen\, practice papers\, black drawing ink\, an A5 watercolour paper pad and your finished artworks to take home.Limited seats available.
