Everard Read Cubicle Artist Walkabout

Everard Read | Cubicle Series | 15 August 2026The idea behind our Cubicle series has always been to allow artists freedom to experiment and push their own practice within a supported gallery environment without the pressure to produce sellable work. With this edition, there is a strong emphasis on the growth allowed by both play and confrontation in the work of Oupa Sibeko and on engaging closely with our natural environment within urban spaces with the work of Adele van Heerden. Also includes artists: Klara du Plessis, Matt Watt and Shayna Arvan. At the Cubicle walkabout, visitors will have the opportunity to hear directly from the artists as they engage with their work and processes, offering rare insight into the ideas and experimentation behind each piece.
